Henry’s kennel sends their best from Best
I sent an e-mail to the kennel in Holland where we got Henry to see if any of his litter mates had lymphoma or other complications. Of course, Henry is the first they have heard of having issues. Henry’s dad, Brainy Bas of the Barking Bunch, and his mom, Gabby of the Barking Bunch, both lived around 11 years, so we are hoping for the best.
Henry is actually the best from Best, in our humble opinion. (He was born in Best, Holland.) He is such a wonderful friend to me. The kennel (in very good English, I might add) told me to celebrate his LIFE and not to pursue chemo if it was not working. I told them that we had Henry’s best interests at heart, and that if he told us that he was too tired to carry on, we would respect his wishes.
So far, he has responded well in only a couple of days. He is barking at the neighbors, playing with his brothers, and he was about to put his little brother in his place with a good hump when I caught him, so he sheepishly stopped and pretended nothing had happened. I had to turn away and laugh. Henry is quite a character.
So my advice to those who are looking for advice is to consider what the Dutch kennel reminded us about (although we did not need reminding): the DOG COMES FIRST. Do what is in the DOG’s best interest.
And Henry from Best agrees!
